Galactic Marines were elite stormtroopers of the Galactic Empire that was originally made up of only clones, but later had non-clone recruits added to their ranks. Most of the Galactic Marines that were still clones ended up getting killed when the first Death Star was destroyed in the Battle of Yavin. About three years later, the surviving clone Galactic Marines fought in the Battle of Hoth, getting their revenge on the rebels that killed their fellow clones by taking control of the main rebel base on the planet[3].
